Mission 2033
Water and bread for 500 million people. By Easter 2033.
The largest initiative for water and food security ever to emerge from the churches: 100 regions, state-of-the-art environmentally friendly technologies, carried by Christians and open to all religions. So that people can live in their homeland – in peace.
Hunger is growing – and driving people from their homes
Drought, wars and blockades of fertiliser and grain are making things worse in 2026. Without new answers, around half a billion people will be in acute need by Easter 2033.

Create water where it is missing – and turn it into bread
MISSION 2033 brings additional rain to drought areas, makes fields fertile again and strengthens local people so that they can feed themselves. Not permanent aid, but self-reliance.
The initiative is carried by the Davos Faith Circle and implemented together with churches, aid organisations, governments and companies.
One goal, four paths to reach it
More people every year – 500 million by Easter 2033
From 2027 new projects start every year; from 2031 all 100 are running. Half of the people are lifted out of acute need, the other half are protected from falling into it.

Goal and plan of MISSION 2033.
Those who have water and work do not have to flee
War and conflict are today the biggest cause of acute hunger – and hunger drives people to flee. MISSION 2033 tackles the roots: in the regions people come from, including Southern and Eastern Europe.
An answer to one of Europe’s greatest concerns
Migration and its consequences weigh on the countries of the North. Nationalist forces exploit tensions such as the unrest in France and Italy in autumn 2026 – and peaceful coexistence between peoples suffers. Tackling need at its roots also protects cohesion in Europe.
One thought, carried by four Popes

Those who suffer from hunger are not strangers.

It’s clear that wars and climate change cause hunger; let us stop presenting it as an incurable illness.

Love is free; it is not practised as a way of achieving other ends.

World peace is threatened … also by a lack of due respect for nature.
